UPDATE | Huntington Beach Police Department (HBPD) officials have identified the Long Beach teen fatally struck by a vehicle on Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) Saturday night.

Mara Garcia, 13, was struck on PCH at Ecology Way, in front of the entrance to Bolsa Chica State Beach.

The investigation is ongoing.

PREVIOUSLY: Long Beach Teen Fatally Struck by Car Saturday Night 

06/15/15 11:15AM | A Long Beach teen was killed Saturday night in Huntington Beach after she was struck by a vehicle on Pacific Coast Highway (PCH), Huntington Beach Police Department (HBPD) officials said.

A 62-year-old Huntington Beach man driving a red 2014 Chevrolet Camaro was traveling northbound on PCH when the vehicle collided with the teen who was on the roadway, based on a preliminary investigation, Sgt. David Dereszynski said.

The incident happened at Ecology Way, in front of the entrance to Bolsa Chica State Beach.

Huntington Beach police officers responding to another call came upon the unresponsive teen at 8:47PM before a dispatch came in, and performed CPR until medical attention arrived, Sgt. Dereszynski said.

Huntington Beach Fire Department (HBFD) paramedics transported the teen to Long Beach Memorial Hospital in critical condition, where she later died. Her mother was notified and responded to the hospital.

The driver remained at the scene and was interviewed by police before being released, officials said.
