A motorist was hospitalized early Friday morning after his vehicle overturned in Alamitos Beach, according to the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD).

Officers responded to a traffic collision involving an overturned vehicle near 3rd Street and Cherry Avenue at about 7:00AM on Friday, May 13, LBPD spokeswoman Marlene Arrona said.

Long Beach Fire Department (LBFD) personnel responded to the scene and transported the driver, an adult male, to a local hospital. He had injuries that appeared to be non-life-threatening, she added.

The collision affected nearby streets for about 30 minutes, according to Arrona.

Authorities did not state how the vehicle overturned or if other vehicles were involved.

Additional details were not available. The investigation remains ongoing.
