On Saturday, November 9, a male subject was trapped to his waist in mud, unable to escape until crews from the Long Beach Fire Department came to save him.

The man was discovered by firefighters near Walnut Ave. and 14th Street around 4:55PM and he was extricated shortly after, according to LBFD spokesperson and firefighter Matthew Dobberpuhl. The patient was then transported to St. Mary’s in what was described as minor distress.

The patient’s name nor cause of the entrapment—other than the incident being possibly work related—have been released at this time.
