Long Beach residents will have the chance to meet their police commanders at events in East Long Beach and in North Long Beach.

East Long Beach residents will have a chance to get to know its new police commander, Elizabeth Griffin, this weekend at a Coffee with a Cop event hosted by Councilmember Stacy Mungo.

Griffin, a 22-year veteran of the Long Beach Police Department, will speak to residents and address issues and concerns during the event.

“I am pleased to host this event to introduce East Division Commander Griffin to our remarkable community members,” Mungo said in a statement. “I remain committed to fostering a vibrant Long Beach, which begins with safeguarding our neighborhoods and protecting our quality of life.”

The event is open to all residents and the business community. It will take place Saturday from 9:00AM to 11:00AM at Eldorado Bar & Grill, located at 3014 North Studebaker Road.

North Long Beach residents will have the opportunity to discuss issues and concerns with North Division Patrol Commander Rudy Komisza on March 30.

The event, which is open to all residents, will take place at 6:00PM at Carmelitos Community Center, located at 851 Via Carmelitos.
