Bellflower Blvd. near Cal State Long Beach was shut down for several hours Monday afternoon after a woman was struck by a car while trying to cross the street. 

The incident occurred at around 2:00PM when the victim attempted to cross Bellflower Blvd. at Beach Drive and was struck by a vehicle driving southbound on Bellflower, according to Nancy Pratt of the Long Beach Police Department.

“The victim was transported to a local hospital and is listed in critical condition,” said Pratt. The victim is only being identified as a female. It is unclear if she was a CSULB student. 

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and the investion remains ongoing.
