UPDATE | A missing 81-year-old Long Beach man last seen Monday by his family was found dead in the San Bernardino area, authorities announced today.
Lloyd Thompson was found Thursday, December 1 in the late evening by San Bernardino County Sheriff Search and Rescue personnel in an unincorporated area of San Bernardino, near Interstate 15 and Glen Helen Parkway, according to the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD). He appeared to have died of natural causes.
Long Beach police were notified Friday by the San Bernardino County Sheriff coroner that Thompson was found dead.
Thompson, who had diabetes and if left unmonitored could become delusional, was last seen the morning of November 28 at his home on the 2100 block of Lime Avenue, according to the LBPD.
“The Sheriff’s Department is to be commended for their commitment of resources in this case and we are thankful for their assistance,” LBPD officials stated.

Lloyd Thompson was last seen the morning of November 28 at his home on the 2100 block of Lime Avenue, according to the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD).
He has diabetes and, if left unmonitored, risks becoming delusional, authorities said.
Thompson’s family reported him missing on Wednesday, November 30, according to officials.
“That evening, his vehicle was found abandoned in a rural area near the Interstate Freeway 15 and Glen Helen Parkway,” officials stated. That area is located in San Bernardino.
Thompson is black, 6 feet 2 inches tall, 180 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He has no scars, marks or tattoos.
The Long Beach Police Department continues to search for the victim. Local hospitals and area law enforcement agencies have also been alerted. Anyone who sees the victim or has information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Long Beach Police Department at (562) 435-6711 or 9-1-1.
