The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors today recommended the appointment of Beaches and Harbors Director Santos H. Kreimann as acting head of the county’s Office of the Assessor while elected Assessor John R. Noguez is on a leave of absence.

Kreimann will assume responsibility for the Assessor’s Office immediately upon Mr. Noguez’s formal leave of absence.

“I am eager to dedicate my full attention to reviewing and improving policies and procedures necessary to restore the public’s confidence in the Los Angeles County Assessor’s Office. My goal is to reestablish the department as the premier property assessment agency in the nation,” stated Mr. Kreimann.

Mr. Kreimann is a longtime Los Angeles County employee with over 20 years of experience in various county departments and oversight expertise in the areas of public finance, property development, and capital improvement projects. Los Angeles County CEO Bill Fujioka last week recommended Mr. Kreimann for the position because of his strong management skills.

Fujioka stated, “Santos is a highly-qualified County leader, and is fully prepared to guide the Assessor’s staff in providing essential public services to County residents.”
