UPDATE: Missing 40-year-old woman with medical conditions found in Lakewood

Editor’s note: Police said Tuesday afternoon that Tasha June Merola was found unharmed at a store in the city of Lakewood.

Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a 40-year-old woman with a medical condition who went missing in Long Beach near the Lakewood Village area.

Tasha June Merola was last seen on Monday, at approximately 4:15 p.m. in the 4700 block of Sunfield Avenue in Long Beach, the LBPD said.

Merola suffers from medical conditions and may become easily disorientated, police said.

This isn’t the first time Merola has gone missing. She was previously reported as missing on the morning of Aug. 22 before she was safely located later that afternoon in Lakewood. She was also reported as missing in 2019 before she was found.

Police said she is known to leave her residence and frequent McDonald’s restaurants, 99 Cents Only Stores, Petco and the Lakewood Mall area.

Merola is 5-foot-4, weighs 130 pounds, has brown hair and hazel eyes. She was wearing a pink sweater and gray pants, according to police.
