The Long Beach Police Department’s (LBPD) DUI/Drivers License checkpoint in North Long Beach last Saturday yielded six arrests and 10 citations for driving a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license, according to a release issued Monday.
Of the 444 vehicles screened in North Long Beach, seven field sobriety tests were performed and three DUI-Alcohol suspects were arrested. Three other criminal arrests were performed as well, and two were issued citations for unsafe driving.

The LBPD will next conduct a DUI/Drivers License Checkpoint on May 21.
In a statement, the LBPD reminded readers that drunk driving is preventable, and recommended using the California Office of Traffic Safety Designated Driver VIP mobile app to find businesses offering incentives as a way to celebrate their life-saving commitment.
The checkpoint was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, reminding everyone to ‘Report Drunk Driver – Call 9-1-1’.
