{"id":2855,"date":"2017-05-24T00:27:05","date_gmt":"2017-05-24T00:27:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lbpost.com\/articles\/news\/harbor-commission-appoints-new-port-deputy-executive-director\/"},"modified":"2017-05-24T00:27:05","modified_gmt":"2017-05-24T00:27:05","slug":"harbor-commission-appoints-new-port-deputy-executive-director","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/news\/harbor-commission-appoints-new-port-deputy-executive-director","title":{"rendered":"Harbor Commission Appoints New Port Deputy Executive Director"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" alignleft size-full wp-image-54419\" style=\"float: left;\" src=\"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Duane-Kenagy-hires.jpg\" alt=\"Duane-Kenagy-hires\" width=\"300\" height=\"421\" \/>Duane Kenagy, formerly interim chief executive, has been appointed by the Long Beach Board of Harbor Commissioners as the Port of Long Beach\u2019s deputy executive director, it was announced today.<\/p>\n<p>As Interim Chief Executive, Kenagy oversaw the Port of Long Beach (POLB), the second busiest seaport in the nation, during the search that ended in naming Mario Cordero as executive director.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDuane provided exceptional leadership during an important transition period at the Port of Long Beach,\u201d Harbor Commission President Lori Ann Guzm\u00e1n said in a statement. \u201cIt was exactly what the Board was hoping for, and this appointment is a reflection of Duane\u2019s value and service. He will be an important adviser to Mario as the Port navigates important changes in the shipping industry.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>With over 35 years of engineering and project management experience in both the U.S. and overseas, Kenagy joined the Long Beach Harbor Department in 2014 as the POLB\u2019s capital programs executive, managing major modernization projects including the Gerald Desmond Bridge Replacement Project and the Middle Harbor Terminal Redevelopment, according to the announcement.
