Barbara Banks was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She was born in Bell Gardens November 14, 1931 to parents Florence Helen Seddon and Roland Irwin Nisewander. She was the fourth of six children. She grew up in Bell Gardens where she completed all her schooling with perfect attendance. She was raised and baptized in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. This was where she would meet her future husband Leon Banks. After several years of dating they would marry in September of 1949. She worked at Oscar Mayer for several years before becoming a fulltime homemaker. They had 6 children and 71 happy years together. After several months of health struggles, she passed away surrounded by family on October 20th. She is joined in death with her parents, siblings, and two of her children. She is survived by her husband Leon, her children Glen (K.C.), Bobbie Jean, Denise (John) Thomas, and Shannon (George) Shearer, and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
