Seven St. Anthony High School students have signed national letters of intent to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level, the high school announced Friday.

Tayler Bennett will be playing basketball for Rice University, Tiara Scott will be playing basketball for Sacramento State University, Michelle Golison will compete in gymnastics for Utah State University, Holly Buschelman will be playing soccer for Lesley University, Jocelyn Bonney will compete in triathlons for Queens University of Charlotte, Angelica Ponce will be playing softball for Mercer University and Amanda McCalip will be playing softball for the University of Houston-Victoria.

The athletes have expressed how welcoming their respective future coaches and teammates are and how excited they are to begin their college careers, according to the announcement. The athletes shared their gratitude for the education they received at St. Anthony that prepared them both athletically and academically to compete at the university level.

“Rice University is highly academic, and I’m thankful I had great teachers to help me achieve the grades and scores I needed to be accepted,” said Bennett in a statement. According to the US News and World Report, Rice University is one of the top 20 universities in the nation.

St. Anthony High School’s unique iPad Program benefitted Jocelyn Bonney immensely, who constantly travels the country to participate in triathlons. Bonney, who recently won the Long Beach Triathlon, said the high school’s iPad Program allowed her to complete her studies, despite

“The iPad allowed me to keep up with all of my work while I competed nationally,” said Bonney in a statement. “Receiving a high school education would not have been possible without St. Anthony High School’s support.”
