If you’re headed to the big race, we have three different ways you can enjoy the experience.  If you don’t have a ticket, I encourage you to check out a parking garage, or take a walk down Pine and grab lunch.  It’s cool to hear the cars outside that are on TV.  But, nothing beats being there.

1) The Grandstand
Why not?  It’s where everyone else sits.  Seriously though, any seat will do and each is good for different reasons.  At the start finish line, you get to see them accelerate to top speed.  You’re also closest to the pre-race festivities, if that’s your thing.  You could sit near turn one or turn six and have a good view of two parts of the track.  Or even turn ten, where the driver talent is on display.

2) The Wanderer
Just walk.  You could walk near turn one and see the first turn of the race.  You could walk near the Tecate Garden and see turn six, or walk near the convention center by turn eight.  The worst part of sitting in the grandstand is that you only see one part of the day.  You can wander and stay updated with the race thanks to the big screens and loud speakers.

3) The Expo
Yes, it can get loud, and hot and overwhelming, and if you need an oasis, just step inside the Convention Center.  There are TV’s in there, and plenty of drink stands.  You can also purchase cocktails inside.  If that’s your thing, check out Club Patron.

There you have it.  Don’t sit at home today.  Get out and celebrate Long Beach, somehow, some way.
