Long Beach basketball fans, take note\u2014we’re just six short months or so away from the start of what could be an incredible 2010-2011 basketball season in the Moore League. <\/span>Poly and Compton were both in the Mater Dei Basketball Tournament over the weekend, and the Jackrabbits ran away with the tournament, while Compton made it to the semifinals of the 26-team tourney before being knocked off by Poly<\/p>\n Poly beat Sonora, Colony and Santa Margarita to earn their way into the semis, where they defeated Compton 76-44. <\/span>The Tarbabes got there with a blowout win over Mater Dei’s B-team and Corona Centennial. <\/span>In the final, Poly cruised against Mater Dei, 65-47, in what proved to be one of their closest games of the tournament. <\/span>The roll through the tourney is made even more impressive because, according to the PT’s Frank Burlison<\/a>, Poly was without Ryan Anderson and Roshcon Prince, who were out of town.
