In the boys’ 4X800, it was a wild afternoon, as they missed the start time for their heat, and found redemption in a place in the next heat\u2014which they took advantage of with a 7:43, the best time in America, led by Aaron Harris’ 1:53. <\/span>Myles Andrews, Christian Penn, and Chris Hall will run in tomorrow’s final. <\/span>The 7:43 mark is the nation’s best this year.<\/p>\nThe boys’ 4X100 featured a little less drama, but yet another best American time for the Trackrabbits. Alex Cannon, Kameron Jackson, Kameron White, and Kaelin Clay posted a 41.39 to qualify for Saturday’s final.<\/o:p><\/p>\nOn the girls’ side, the 4X100 featured the heartbreaker of the day for Poly. <\/span>The team of Carisma Lyday, Melia Cox, Traci Hicks, and Akawkaw Ndipagbor were in the lead, when they dropped the baton on the final exchange of the race, to draw a DNF. <\/span>Tough for a group that on Thursday ran America’s best time in the event.<\/o:p><\/p>\nThe girls’ 4X800 improved on their Thursday time by five seconds, coming in third in the world and first in America with a 9:00.72. <\/span>Here are the splits: Arielle Stevenson (2:14.79), Tia Leake (2:14.87), Ne’Ausha Logan (2:14.43), Dynasty Gammage (2:16.63).<\/o:p><\/p>\nFinally, in the girls’ 4X800, Poly finished 7th, with the second best time in America. <\/span>Here are the splits from this one: Arielle Stevenson (58.7), Azia Walker (56.5), Erica Winston (58.0), Akawkaw Ndipagbor (55.0).<\/o:p><\/p>\nOn Saturday, Poly will be in four events (times are Eastern Standard Time). <\/span>The boys’ 4X400 will be at 11:45am, the boys’ triple jump at noon, the 4X100 at 1:35pm, and the 4X800 at 4:10. <\/span>ESPN2 will have a two-hour broadcast of events starting at 5pm on Saturday, so be sure to tune in to that! <\/span>Saturday we’ll have a full recap of what has already been a spectacular showing at the Penn Relays by Poly.<\/o:p><\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
