Poly is at the world-famous Penn Relays, and they collected a set of positive results on the first day of competition, in front of crowds ranging between 18,000 and 20,000 (up to 50,000 will come out for the finals on Saturday).<\/p>\n
The girls’ 4X800 team won their heat and posted the number one American time, with a 9:05. <\/span>Two Jamaican teams posted better times, but Tea Leake, Erica Winston, Rebekah Oragwu, and Dynasty Gammage have to be happy with their time, and the nation-best status after the qualifying heats. <\/span>Gammage was the low-split with 2:12. <\/span>Click the link for the video: http:\/\/pennrelaysonline.com\/Results\/results.aspx?en=8<\/a>.<\/p>\n Of the 283 girls’ teams who ran the 4X100, Poly came in second with a 46.77, behind a Jamaican team’s 46.21, which set a new meet record. <\/span>Carisma Lyday, Melia Cox, Traci Hicks, and Akawkaw Ndipagbor ran the race for the Rabbits. <\/span>They’ll race tomorrow in the finals. The girls’ 4X400 also saw the Rabbits qualify for tomorrow, with the meet’s 8th fastest time. <\/span>They finished in 3:46, four seconds behind a Jamaican team. <\/span>Ne’Ausha Logan, Azia Walker, Arielle Stevenson, and Ndipagbor ran this one for the Rabbits, with Ndipagbor coming in lowest at 54.1. <\/span>The video: http:\/\/pennrelaysonline.com\/Results\/results.aspx?en=46<\/a>.<\/p>\n As usual, Tara Richmond represented well for the Fieldrabbits, with a nation-best mark of 1.76-meters (a little over 5’9″). <\/span>She was second in the world, but again, tops in America.
