Report by LBSU<\/span><\/p>\n After one round of play at the U.S. Intercollegiate, the Long Beach State men’s golf team carded a 26-over 306 at the par-70, 6,727 yard Stanford Golf Course to finish in 15th place.<\/p>\n Opening round play was concluded on Monday morning after being suspended on Sunday afternoon due to heavy rains in the Bay Area.<\/p>\n Third-ranked Washington currently leads the field of 20 teams as the Huskies finished at one-over 281, followed by No. 4 UCLA at three-over (283) and No. 6 Oregon at six-over (286). Tournament host No. 2 Stanford completed the opening round in eighth place at 12-over (292).<\/p>\n LBSU was led by senior Robbie Berton as he tied for 36th with a 74 (+4), followed by freshman Benjamin Lein with a 75 (+5) as he tied for 44th.<\/p>\n Sophomore Kevin Roy finished third for The Beach as he tied for 56th with a 76 (+6), with senior Michael Drake carding an 81 (+11) as he tied for 91st and freshman Raymond Ho shooting an 84 (+14) as he finished the morning round tied for 101st.<\/p>\n John Chin of UC Irvine sits on top of the leaderboard with a 66 (-4), followed by Jay Myers of San Jose State with a 67 (-3).<\/p>\n Second round action began early this afternoon after a short rain delay and tournament officials are hoping that teams can complete the round by the end of today, with weather permitting.
