It was a great day of basketball at Jordan, as Stanford came away with the Division 1 city championship, while Tincher took the Division 2 crown.<\/p>\n
Division I Championship: Stanford 40, Hoover 38 The Division I Finals had the look of a prize fight as undefeated Northern League Champion Hoover took on undefeated Southern League Champion Stanford. <\/span>The lead changed hands several times with the Hawks clinging to a 20-19 Halftime lead. <\/span>The second half was no different, as the fans got their “money’s worth” as Stanford held a 40-38 lead with just seconds remaining in the game. <\/span>Hoover had one last opportunity and was able to get off a 3-pointer as time expired\u2026.that hit the rim\u2026. ricocheted off the backboard\u2026.hit the rim again\u2026.and fell out! <\/span>Leading scorer for the Hawks was Sean Lopez (10 pts.); Leading scorer for the Highlanders was Jaylen Massengill (12 pts. ) & Kevin Walker (10 pts.)
