\">The Poly wrestling team won its first six matches and took a 31-0 lead over visiting Wilson on the way to a 47-21 win to claim at least third place in the Moore League.<\/span><\/span>  <\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font face=\"'Trebuchet MS'\">Poly had five brother&#8217;s go 5-0 and earn 24 team points as Oscar (103 pounds), Sergio (135) and 160-pound Jesus Preciado all won matches as did Rickie (125) and Richie Touch (130).<\/font><span style=\"font-family: 'Trebuchet MS';\"><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font face=\"'Trebuchet MS'\">The decisive victory has some wondering if Thursday&#8217;s showdown with Millikan at Poly will be more competitive than most expect.<\/font><span style=\"font-family: 'Trebuchet MS';\"><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font face=\"'Trebuchet MS'\">&#8220;We really just want to come out and give Millikan all we have and if they beat us, at least we left it all out on the mat,&#8221; Poly coach Bart Roper said. &#8220;I couldn&#8217;t be more proud of my kids tonight for battling to the end and winning in a much more convincing fashion than even I expected.&#8221;<\/font><span style=\"font-family: 'Trebuchet MS';\"><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font face=\"'Trebuchet MS'\">Freshman Oscar Preciado (103) got Poly off to a 6-0 team lead when he pinned Wilson&#8217;s Nicole Guardarzian.&nbsp; Alex Oul then pinned Garret Petersen (112) and Jimmy Sammon (119) won a 12-0 major decision over Wilson&#8217;s Austin Urtz to give the Jackrabbits a 16-0 team lead.<\/font><span style=\"font-family: 'Trebuchet MS';\"><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font face=\"'Trebuchet MS'\">Rickie Touch (125) pinned Adam Lemus at 5:26 and Richie Touch (130) won a tough 4-3 decision over the Bruins&#8217; Leo Leao.&nbsp; Sergio Preciado&#8217;s (135) pin of Dylan Bent at 3:20 gave Poly its 31-0 lead.<\/font><span style=\"font-family: 'Trebuchet MS';\"><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font face=\"'Trebuchet MS'\">Tyler Whitfill (140) pinned Poly&#8217;s Alfredo Alcala at just 1:19 into the match to give the Bruins their first victory of the evening.Poly&#8217;s Michael Middlebrooks (140) was able to win a major decision (13-2) over Bradley Burgess, before Wilson&#8217;s Nick Hrebien (152) pinned the Jackrabbits&#8217; Michael Williams at 4:42 to pull the Bruins to within 35-12.<\/font><span style=\"font-family: 'Trebuchet MS';\"><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font face=\"'Trebuchet MS'\">But the showcase match of the night was Wilson&#8217;s 160-pound and Troy Classic champion vs. Poly&#8217;s best, Jesus Preciado, who bumped up to 160 to take on Newman.<\/font><span style=\"font-family: 'Trebuchet MS';\"><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font face=\"'Trebuchet MS'\">After a 4-4 tied midway through the match, Preciado was able to take control and win a 12-6 decision over the rising Newman.<\/font><span style=\"font-family: 'Trebuchet MS';\"><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font face=\"'Trebuchet MS'\">&#8220;It was close and then I think I was just a little more crisp on my takedowns tonight,&#8221; Jesus Preciado said. &#8220;I was pretty good on my feet and was glad to be able to pick up the win.&#8221;<\/font><span style=\"font-family: 'Trebuchet MS';\"><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font face=\"'Trebuchet MS'\">Jesus Preciado improved to 13-0 after rehabilitating an injury and along with Warren High&#8217;s Damien Gomez (103) are the Long Beach-area&#8217;s only undefeated wrestlers.<\/font><span style=\"font-family: 'Trebuchet MS';\"><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font face=\"'Trebuchet MS'\">The Moore League&#8217;s best 171-pounder thus far, Wilson&#8217;s Miguel Peralta, remained unbeaten in league action.&nbsp; The senior pinned David Cropp at 2:09 to get Wilson as close as they&#8217;d get on Tuesday, 38-18.<\/font><span style=\"font-family: 'Trebuchet MS';\"><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font face=\"'Trebuchet MS'\">Poly&#8217;s Charlie Song (189) pinned Demetrius Torres at 4:50 and was followed by an 8-2 decision victory for Wilson&#8217;s Ignacio Mundo at 215 pounds.&nbsp; Poly&#8217;s Taga Loa (heavyweight) rallied late to win a 5-4 decision over Wilson&#8217;s Oscar Ronquello to close out the night.<\/font><span style=\"font-family: 'Trebuchet MS';\"><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font face=\"'Trebuchet MS'\">&#8220;We expected to be more competitive tonight, but our kids battled hard and stayed in the match all night,&#8221;
