Fresh off the first loss of the season in pool play of the Ocean View Tournament of Champions, the Poly boys\u2019 basketball team bounced back nicely last night against Harvard-Westlake.<\/p>\n

<\/o:p><\/p>\n

Sure, the Jackrabbits committed 22 turnovers and Shelton Boykin only played 10 minutes because of a lingering ankle injury, but they pulled away from Harvard-Westlake and won 75-66.  The Long Beach State-bound Boykin poured in a team-high 20 points.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

Poly did a nice job crashing on Westlake\u2019s twin towers in the post\u2014senior Erik Swoope and junior Damiene Cain\u2014and on the offensive end the Jackrabbits went on a run early in the second half to go up 15.  <\/span>Ryan Anderson had 16 points, Alexis Moore had 13 and Alex Carmon added 11.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

The Wolverines did get back within single digits in the fourth quarter, but Poly stayed aggressive and got to the foul line.  Nate Bulleck had 22 points for Harvard-Westlake.  The Jackrabbits improve to 5-1.<\/o:p><\/p>\n
