Matt Farrington scored two goals to lead the No. 8 Long Beach State 49ers in a, 13-7, loss to No. 2 Cal in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Conference match Sunday afternoon at the Long Beach State 49er Campus Pool.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

Long Beach State (8-11, 1-6) trailed Cal, 4-3, early in the second period before Cal scored four of the next five goals to put the game out of reach. The Bears (17-4, 4-1) were led by Ivan Rackov who scored four goals for Cal including three in the third quarter when the Bears pulled away from The Beach. <\/o:p><\/p>\n

The Beach also got goals from six different players including Brian Schiefer, Carter Taylor, Jordan Koeppen, Justin Koeppen, Patrick van der Linde. <\/o:p><\/p>\n

Goalie Derek Wiebe-Bailey had a game-high nine saves for The Beach. <\/o:p><\/p>\n

Long Beach State’s next game is Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. PT, at the 49er Campus Pool. The 49ers will take on the No. 6 lions of Loyola Marymount.<\/o:p><\/p>\n
