ESPN’s Andy Katz penned (or typed) a nice lengthy feature on Long Beach State men’s basketball coach Dan Monson yesterday.  <\/span>Katz quotes Monson saying that in Long Beach, he “enjoys life again.”  <\/span>The piece covers Monson’s journey from Gonzaga to the University of Minnesota, to Long Beach.  <\/span>Since coming to the Beach, Monson tells Katz that “I enjoy going to work every day; that’s the main thing that’s different now.  <\/span>I don’t care about the money or the league. I enjoy life again.”<\/p>\n

Perhaps this piece will silence the nonstop rumors\u2014largely fueled by the Press Telegram’s Doug Krikorian\u2014that Monson wants to jump ship from LBSU as quickly as he can find a higher-paying gig.  <\/span>Of course, he’s not telling Katz anything he hasn’t said before, so who knows?<\/o:p><\/p>\n
