A few hours after their first win of their season, the 49ers completed their second sweep of the day, downing Indiana State 25-15, 25-16, 25-10. With the win, Long Beach State evened its record at 2-2.<\/p>\n

The 49ers hit over .300 for the second straight match, putting down 41 kills at a .320 rate, and also got the job done at the net, finishing the match with 9.5 blocks. Caitlin Ledoux finished one kill shy of a double-double while leading the team with 13 digs, while Naomi Washington led the way once again with 12 kills.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

Libero Lauren Minkel finished with 10 digs, while junior setter Ashley Lee hit .400 with 28 assists and six digs.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

Indiana State hung close early with the 49ers, but after a 6-6 tie, Long Beach State turned it on, scoring eight straight points, leading to an Indiana State timeout. Long Beach State continued to keep total control of the set behind five and a half blocks, and the 49ers took 25-15 set win in the opener.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

Long Beach State opened an early lead in the second set, taking advantage of a pair of Sycamore attack errors and service errors to take a 10-7 lead. The Sycamores continued to hang around until an Osunbor and Ledoux block for the 49ers, leading to a 17-11 lead and an Indiana State timeout. The 49ers closed out the set with more solid hitting, finishing with a .344 attack percentage in a 25-16 win.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

After trading points early in the first two sets, the 49ers took an ace from Caitlin Ledoux to start set three and quickly made the score 7-0 after three overpass kills and a second ace by Ledoux. With a large cushion, the 49ers continued to dominate the Sycamores and closed out the set 25-10.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

In the other match in the Walter Pyramid Friday, UMBC beat Indiana State 25-13, 25-17, 25-16 behind a double-double by senior outside hitter Ashley Oscars.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

The 49ers finish action in the Long Beach State\/UC Irvine Tournament tomorrow, hosting Northeastern at 7 p.m. in the Walter Pyramid. The team will also host a neutral\u2013site match with Montana playing Indiana State at 4 p.m.<\/o:p><\/p>\n
