Softball (32-20, 14-7)<\/strong>
lost to No. 14 Hawai\u2019i 7-4
defeated No. 14 Hawai\u2019i 14-7
defeated No. 14 Hawai\u2019i 11-3 (5 innings)
–The 49ers defeated their first ranked team of the season, winning a crucial Big West series at
conference-leading Hawai\u2019i. The team hit eight home runs during the Saturday doubleheader as
the 49ers run-ruled Hawai\u2019i in the final game of the series.<\/p>\n

Women\u2019s Golf<\/strong>
at Big West Conference Championship<\/em>
–LBSU finished second out of eight team at 34-over 910. The 49ers finished 12-strokes ahead
of No. 60 UC Irvine (third) for the third straight year for two points in the Black & Blue Rivalry
Series and 40 shots ahead of Cal Poly (sixth) to move LBSU closer to the Mustangs in the Big
West Commissioner\u2019s Cup standings.
–Sophomore Chaewon Park takes fifth-place honors with a 7-over 226 to lead 49ers in San Luis
Obispo.<\/p>\n

Women\u2019s Tennis (21-3, 11-1 Big West)<\/strong>
at the Big West Tournament<\/em>

–The 49ers won their third straight Big West Championship and ninth in the last ten years while
snapping UCI\u2019s 20 match winning streak. LBSU advances to the NCAA Tournament for the third
consecutive year and will find out their first opponent on Tuesday, Apr. 30.<\/p>\n

No. 10 Women\u2019s Water Polo (25-7, 4-3 Big West)<\/strong>
at Big West Tournament<\/em>
Won vs. No. 14 Cal State Northridge, 8-2
Lost vs. No. 7 Hawai\u2019i, 10-5
Won vs. No. 8 San Diego State, 8-6
–The 2013 Long Beach State women\u2019s water polo team upended third-seed SDSU, 8-6, for the
fi st time since 2006 to claim third-place at the Big West Tournament and complete its best finish
in program history.<\/p>\n

Baseball (20-21, 9-6 Big West)<\/strong>
Won at No. 7 UCLA 11-1
Lost vs. No. 18 Cal Poly 8-5

–Juan Avila drove in the winning run on Saturday before giving the Dirtbags the lead with a grand
slam on Sunday in a 9-5 win over Cal Poly.<\/p>\n

Men\u2019s Golf<\/strong>
at 2nd Annual Winchester Classic<\/em>
–The 49ers finished in seventh-place (11 teams) at 28-over 892, while Senior Philip Chian tied
for 17th at 6-over 22<\/p>\n

Men\u2019s Volleyball (24-8)<\/strong>
Won vs. #3 UC Irvine, 3-2
Lost at #1 BYU, 3-0
–Juniors Taylor Crabb and Connor Olbright were named to the MPSF All-Tournament Team after
leading the 49ers to their first appearance in the conference finals since 2006.<\/p>\n

Track & Field<\/strong>
at Triton Invitational, NTS<\/em>
at Steve Scott Invitational, NTS<\/em>
–Senior Amanda Klinchuch registered two personal records and won the pole vault in a jump
off at the Steve Scott Invitational. She cleared 12-03.5 to claim the title and rank sixth in school
history.<\/p>\n
