The major education-themed fundraising event will be held from 2:30 to 6:00 at the Old Ranch Country Club in Seal Beach, California.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-family:ArialMT\">\u201cAn Education for Every Child\u201d raises funds for Olive Crest\u2019s diverse educational programs\u2014which include the NOVA Academy high school for at-risk teens, three Therapeutic Educational Center (or TEC) schools for exceptional middle and elementary school kids, and the Olive Crest Education Fund, which provides scholarships for college and pays the costs of tuition, housing, tutors, mentoring and even backpacks for at-risk youngsters<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-family:ArialMT\">Time magazine named Dean Karnazes as one of the \u201cTop 100 Most Influential People in the World.\u201d He is an internationally recognized endurance athlete, a best-selling author, and a sought-after speaker. Karnazes swam across the San Francisco Bay, climbed Half Dome in Yosemite, mountain-biked for 24 hours straight, surfed the gigantic waves off the coast of Hawaii, and is an accomplished windsurfer.
