Athlete of the Week:<\/strong> Junior volleyball player Taylor Crabb totaled 32 kills in a pair of road wins over Pacific and Stanford, making him the 20th 49er in program history to reach 1,000 career kills.
 
No. 2 Sand Volleyball<\/strong>
Won vs. No. 5 Hawaii 4-1
Won vs. No. 4 USC 3-2
–The 49ers have two pairs that remain unbeaten in 2013.
 
Softball (23-14, 5-1 Big West)<\/strong>
Won at UC Riverside, 14-11
Won at UC Riverside, 10-2
Won at UC Riverside, 6-2
–The 49ers scored 30 runs during the three game series, posting their first sweep of the season. Darian Tautalafua\u2019s grand slam in the top of the seventh lifted the team to victory in game one of the series.
 
Women’s Tennis (14-3, 5-1 Big West)<\/strong>
def. Cal State Northridge, 7-0
— Freshman Anne-Sophie Willems moved up to the No. 5 singles spot and didn’t give up a game against CSUN, winning 6-0, 6-0 to help LBSU pick up its sixth consecutive victory and remain undefeated at home this season (10-0).
 
No. 9 Women’s Water Polo (21-4, 2-2 BWC)<\/strong>
Def. No. 18 Pacific, 8-6
Def. No. 15 UC Davis 9-7
–Christina Kotsia guided the 49ers to two crucial road victories in northern California over Pacific and UC Davis with four goal. The two road victories ties the school record for second-most wins in a season.
 
Baseball (11-16, 2-1 Big West)<\/strong>

Won vs. CS Northridge 14-2
Won vs. CS Northridge 7-5
–Michael Hill hit an inside-the-park home run on Saturday, part of a 8-for-13 weekend for the junior.
 
Men’s Golf<\/strong>
at 33rd Anteater Invitational<\/em>
– 49ers capture team title for the second consecutive year with a 54-hole score of 27-over 891.
– Freshman Daniel Chian places second (+1), finishing just one shot behind first
 
Men\u2019s Volleyball (19-7, 15-6 MPSF)<\/strong>
Won at Pacific, 3-1
Won at #6 Stanford, 3-2
–The 49ers are tied for second in the conference standings and have clinched a spot in the MPSF playoffs.
 
Track & Field<\/strong>

–Freshman Michael Montgomery established two lifetime bests en route to a first-place finish in the men\u2019s pole vault (16-00.75).<\/p>\n
