If you’re a fan of Jordan football, or just Long Beach kids in general, you’ll find a welcome sight up in Northtown this season: a rotating contingent of collegiate scouts as the Panthers have a couple of players who are getting some serious recruiting attention.<\/p>\n
John Timu, Jordan’s starting quarterback and last year’s Moore League Player of the Year, has had Pac-10 attention and scout.com reports he’s been offered by Hawaii and Oregon already, before his senior year. And we got an email yesterday from Panthers coach Scott Meyer with the great news that Princeton Fuimaono, a first-team all-league linebacker for the Panthers last season, is also getting good looks, and has been offered by the University of Washington, Hawaii, and San Jose State. Of course, both players are likely to get a lot more looks by the end of the season\u2014especially with the number of high-profile games the Panthers have scheduled. <\/span>Their non-league games are against Bishop Amat (on the road), Beverly Hills (on the road), Pasadena, Dominguez, and Oaks Christian (again, on the road). <\/span>That’s easily the toughest schedule Jordan’s had in recent memory, and should give Timu, Fuimaono, and the rest of the Panthers plenty of opportunity to improve their collegiate stock.<\/p>\n Got a recruiting tip?
