The 49ers leaned on four singles wins to advance to their ninth straight championship match, defeating Cal State Northridge 4-2 yesterday afternoon. The 49ers will face UC Irvine Sunday for the right to go to the NCAA Tournament, as well as their sixth consecutive Big West championship.<\/p>\n

Long Beach State had a chance at the doubles point, after Anais Dallara and Rachel Manasse pulled out an 8-6 win at No. 3 doubles, but the Matadors’ Jaworowski\/Sirojiddinova took a 9-7 win over Deborah Armstrong and Lisa Sutton to clinch the doubles point.<\/p>\n
The 49ers rebounded in singles however, taking the top four matches to clinch the match. Armstrong made quick work of Brooke Doane, winning 6-0, 6-2, and after wins from Hannah Grady and Rachel Manasse at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, Anais Dallara clinched the match with a 7-6, 6-2 win over Whitney Paluch.<\/p>\n
Beach Tennis will play UC Irvine Sunday starting at 9 a.m. at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden.<\/p>\n
