From LBSU reports<\/span><\/p>\n Long Beach State runner Alex Freitas broke his own school record for the 800-meter and moved up on the NCAA provisional qualifying list at the UW Last Chance Meet Saturday afternoon at Dempsey Indoor.<\/p>\n “Alex ran a great race today,” said 49er distance coach Patrick Cunniff. “He was very aggressive and worked hard throughout the race. We are happy with his time and hope it leads to qualifying for nationals.”<\/p>\n Freitas, a junior, notched his second provisional qualifying mark of the season as he clocked in at 1:49.44.
