If you’re looking for the picture of consistency in local baseball, look no further than the Long Beach City College Vikings, who extended their season-best winning streak to six games thanks to an 11-0 South Coast Conference win over visiting Los Angeles Harbor College on Saturday at Joe Hicks Memorial Field. <\/span>The win improved Long Beach to 10-6 overall and keeps the Vikings perfect in SCC action at 3-0. LBCC pounded out 13 hits, including six hits in a six-run first inning that set the tone for the ball game.<\/p>\n \n The Vikings sent 11 batters to the plate against Harbor starting pitcher Nick Alarcon in the first and got a RBI double from catcher Jonathan Keener and run-scoring singles from designated hitter Jared Smith, shortstop Hector Iribe, and center fielder Michael Schultz (2 RBI). First baseman Brian Loard also plated a first-inning run with a ground out.<\/p>\n The Vikings added a single run in the second and scored two runs in the fourth and sixth. <\/span>LBCC starting pitcher Blake Golding was able to cruise thanks to the early six-run cushion.
