LBSU’s Sports Information Department has reported that there were 4,263 fans in attendance for Thursday night’s rivalry match against the CSU Fullerton Titans.  If you were in the stands or standing above them, you could feel the ‘Myd shake with the roars and cheers that can only come from great heckling.  Here were some of our favorites. <\/p>\n

Best Rival Heckle:<\/span> Let’s get this one out of the way quick.  I liked the simplicity of this sign, and, with Fullerton’s guard scoring 31 points on the Beach, its message certainly rang true:

Best Verbal Heckle (60+ category):<\/span> The student section was full and overflowing, but the kids weren’t the only ones making their voices heard.  At one point, I heard an elderly voice behind me make his displeasure with the officiating known: “Hey!  Mr. Whistle!  Mr. Whistle!  Knock off the bull$#!&!!”  This is really only getting a mention from me because I like that he called the ref “Mister.”<\/div>\n

Best Sign Involving Threats of Cannibalism<\/span>:<\/span>  I didn’t get a great picture of this one because I was, quite frankly, a little terrified.  In retrospect, I’m not sure if this should count as a heckle or a friendly warning.  The sign reads, “Go home CSUF!  Donovan Morris will eat you!”

Best Heckle O’ The Game:<\/span> This game’s BHotG award (pronounced bee-HOT-guh) has got to go to the makers of this sign, for their creative use of Fullerton’s other nickname and their photorealistic tempura paint rendering of elephant poop.  Bravo, friends, bravo.
