So many, in fact, that I am declaring them an Honorary Long Beach High School and I strongly suggest you keep an eye on them this year. Because as (fellow-alumnist) Bill Baca and I will be more than happy to tell you, Bosco has a phenomenal team, and contrary to what others on this site may try to tell you this Braves team is fully capable of beating any team in Southern California- and with Mater Dei, Orange Lutheran, and Servite all in their league, Bosco will certainly have a chance to prove it.

Coming into Friday night’s game against rival St Paul, Bosco was 4 -0 having outscored their opponents 165 to 48. And Friday night’s 37-10 Homecoming win kept the Braves rolling.

Bosco is lead by senior quarterback Price, who had a huge game with 3 TDs in the air and another 2 on the ground. In fact, he threw for over 200 yards and ran for another 70 while the Braves D held the Swordsmen of St Paul to under 200 yards of total offense. All facets of the Braves were firing as junior kicker Auburn Jimenez kicked three touchbacks in the first half and kicked a 51-yard field goal. Special teams really did a lot for the Braves not only on a few huge returns but also on two blocked kicks.

Bosco lead from start to finish, taking the first offensive play of the game- a screen pass from Price to junior Austin Mahr, who also had nearly 50 yards rushing- for 65 yards and a touchdown and never looked back.

Now the real fun begins for the Braves though, and not just because I’m covering them for LBPostSports.com now, but because they enter the toughest league in Southern California (and possibly the country.) Their defense will continue to be lead by seniors Thomas Hawkes and Steven Garcia and their offense will continue to light it up with Price, Leon Mcfadden, and Will Shamburger. And with sophomores like Taylor Sparks- 3 receptions and 58 yards, including a touchdown and another excellent reception that put him out at the 1- this Braves program will be good for years to come. So, welcome to Long Beach guys, we’re happy to have you.

 body { background: #FFF;
