The Long Beach City College women’s soccer team pulled out a 1-0 non-conference win over visiting Taft College on Tuesday at LBCC. <\/span>The win improved LBCC to 6-4-1 overall this season while Taft fell to 3-4-1.<\/span><\/p>\n After a scoreless first half, things got interesting in the second as both teams had scoring chances turned away by LBCC freshman goalie Marilyn Montez and Taft keeper Danielle Fitzgerald. <\/span>In the 65th<\/sup> and 74th<\/sup> minute, Montez made a pair of diving stabs to her left to knock away potential goals. <\/span>And in minute 69, Fitzgerald dove to her left to take away a goal from LBCC freshman midfielder Janna Mora.<\/span><\/p>\n But LBCC finally got on the board in the 81st<\/sup> minute, when freshman midfielder Courtney Campbell sent a breakaway pass down the left side to freshman forward Glenda Rodriguez.
