the always poised quarterback, Jesse Scroggins, and  the heir apparent to recently departed Alex Fletcher, explosive running back  Jerry Stone.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>They combined for 358  of Lakewood&#8217;s 405 yards of offense.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes\">&nbsp;  <\/span>After last week&#8217;s victory over Crenshaw, Lancers coach Thadd MacNeal  praised both players, saying that Scroggins &#8220;was meant to be a  quarterback,&#8221; and that Stone would &#8220;light up the Moore  League.&#8221;<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size:9.0pt;font-family:\" trebuchet=\"\" ms??=\"\">Lakewood&#8217;s  defense continued to come up big when needed, holding Peninsula under 200 yards  on the game.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Peninsula employs  variations and Norv Turner-esque shifts at the line to try and confuse opposing  defenses.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Apparently, Lakewood  studied up&mdash;seventy yards of Peninsula&#8217;s total came on a long run late in the  game, after Lakewood had already sealed it.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:  yes\">&nbsp;
