After a scoreless first half, senior Sam Baker gave Wilson the lead in the 52nd minute, and there was little doubt they’d be going home with the game. In 34 games, Wilson has allowed only nine total goals, thanks to star goalie Lacey Heck, who’s one of five Bruins to have accepted Division 1 scholarships. After that, Emily Dillon and sensation Samantha Prochnow scored insurance goals. The 3-0 victory was the most decisive of the entire state playoffs; prior to today’s victory, no team had won by more than a single goal.<\/p>\n
As a result, Wilson has been crowned studentsportsoccer.com’s national champions, and are likely to win the NSCSAA\/Addidas title as well, since they’re currently ranked 2nd and the 1st-ranked team just lost.
