The Long Beach Little League closed out its season on Sunday, June 2.<\/p>\n

This year, more than 550 ballplayers made up 47 teams in five divisions: Challenger, Major, Minor A, Minor B, Farm, and T-Ball.<\/p>\n

On closing day Sebastian Wheeler won the home run contest and the Luke Johnson Award went to Nicolas Guadamuz; the honor is chosen by the league’s umpires and goes to the player who exhibits qualities of hard work and a positive attitude.<\/p>\n

A ceremony was also held honoring long-time Little League coach, umpire and board member, Al Huntley. Long Beach Little League named its flagship ballpark Al Huntley Field.<\/p>\n
