10:01am | <\/strong><\/span><\/span>The Long Beach City College men\u2019s golf team shot 382-381 \u2014 758 to finish in sixth place at the 2011 California Community College Athletic Association  Men\u2019s Golf State Championship on Monday at Kings Country Club in Hanford.<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

Freshmen Jonathan Strang (La Serna High School) and Fidel Rodriguez (Avalon <\/span><\/font> High School<\/span><\/font>) both shot 150 (+6 over par) over two rounds to lead LBCC at the tourney.  Rodriguez shot 76-74 while Strang carded 77-73.<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

Freshman Chris Perez (Valley Christian <\/span><\/font>High School<\/span><\/font>) finished tied for 32nd<\/sup> (74-80\u2014154), while sophomore Kris Bernard (Servite <\/span><\/font><\/span><\/font>High School<\/span><\/font>) shot 76-80\u2014156 and freshman Patrick Jung (Kennedy <\/span><\/font><\/span><\/font>High School<\/span><\/font>) shot 79-77\u2014156 to finish tied for 38th<\/sup> place.<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

LBCC\u2019s top golfer, Peter Prescott (Sydney, Australia), was disqualified during the tournament after Round 1.  <\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

Chabot College shot a combined 375-379\u2014754 to win the 2011 team state title. Andrew Perez of College of the Desert shot an impressive 65-73\u2014138 to capture individual medalist honors.<\/span><\/font><\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
