<\/title> <meta name=\"Generator\" content=\"Cocoa HTML Writer\"> <meta name=\"CocoaVersion\" content=\"949.54\"> <\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Trebuchet MS';\"><strong>5:55pm |<\/strong> Long Beach State men\u2019s basketball coach Dan Monson announced Tuesday that Kris Gulley from Independence Community College has signed a National Letter of Intent.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><meta charset=\"utf-8\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Trebuchet MS';\">Gulley, who will join the 49ers in the fall, played one season at the junior college. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><font face=\"'Trebuchet MS'\">\u201cWe are excited to add Kris to our family,\u201d Monson said in a statement. \u201cHe gained experience in one of the best junior college programs in America, and yet is a very good student who has three years eligibility remaining. <\/p>\n<p>Kris is an athletic wing that can make shots and stretch the defense on the perimeter,” he continued. “We feel his size, athleticism and skill package compliment the wings already in our program in helping us make that next step.\u201d <br \/><span> <\/span><br \/> Gulley, a 6’7″ guard\/forward, averaged 10.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.2 steals per game while leading Independence to a 23-9 record. He made 41.8 percent (110 out of 263) of his shots while converting on 33 percent (38 out of 115) of his 3-pointers. <\/font><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Trebuchet MS';\">The Dallas, Texas, native scored in double figures in 17 of his 31 games with two double-doubles, including a career-high 27 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in a 113-100 win over Allen County. Gulley increased his scoring average over Independence\u2019s last 13 games to 13.5 points per game, including a pair of 20-plus point games. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><font face=\"'Trebuchet MS'\"> The addition of Gulley brings Long Beach State\u2019s 2010-11 recruiting class to four. Monson signed high school guards Michael Caffey and Shaquille Hunter and junior college guard\/forward James Ennis in November. <\/font><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Trebuchet MS';\">Caffey (Centennial High School, Corona, Calif.) was named to the 2010-2011 CIF-Southern Section Division 1AA Team, while Hunter (Villa Park High School, Villa Park, Calif.) was named to the 2010-2011 CIF-Southern Section Division 2AA Team.
