Email us at editorialboard@lbpost.com about any other ways not included and we\u2019ll add them to this list.<\/p>\n<h3><b>Contact your local leaders:\u00a0<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Paul Duncan, the recently appointed Homeless Services Officer for the city of Long Beach, has been noted as a fresh force for positive impact within our city.\u00a0 Ask your <a href=\"http:\/\/www.longbeach.gov\/officials\/\">city council representative<\/a> to setup a community meeting with Paul to discuss ways to address homelessness in your district, and to provide updates to the community<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Connect with the commission at\u00a0 <a href=\"mailto:HomelessServices@longbeach.gov\">HomelessServices@longbeach.gov<\/a> to ask about how you can help support the city\u2019s efforts to address homelessness.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Reach out to County Supervisor <a href=\"https:\/\/lacounty.gov\/government\/supervisors\/janice-hahn\/\">Janice Hahn<\/a>, who represents Long Beach at the county level, and Congressman <a href=\"https:\/\/lowenthal.house.gov\/contact\">Alan Lowenthal<\/a>, who represents Long Beach at the federal level.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">At the state level, reach out to representatives state Sen. <a href=\"https:\/\/sd33.senate.ca.gov\/contact\/send-e-mail\">Lena Gonzalez<\/a> and Assemblyman <a href=\"https:\/\/lcmspubcontact.lc.ca.gov\/PublicLCMS\/ContactPopup.php?district=AD70\">Patrick O\u2019Donnell<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>Support Local Organizations:\u00a0<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/news\/video-nonprofit-distributes-sleeping-bags-socks-and-food-to-homeless-in-long-beach\">Care Closet LBC,<\/a> headed by Duke Givens, collects and distributes food, clothes, and toiletries to the homeless community<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><a style=\"background-color: #ffffff; font-family: -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'segoe ui', Roboto, 'helvetica neue', Arial, 'noto sans', sans-serif, 'apple color emoji', 'segoe ui emoji', 'segoe ui symbol', 'noto color emoji'; font-size: 1rem;\" href=\"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/news\/long-beach-womans-nonprofit-helps-local-homeless-population\">Ashlee\u2019s Homeless Fund, <\/a><span style=\"font-family: -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'segoe ui', Roboto, 'helvetica neue', Arial, 'noto sans', sans-serif, 'apple color emoji', 'segoe ui emoji', 'segoe ui symbol', 'noto color emoji'; font-size: 1rem;\">spearheaded by Christine Barry, raises funds to connect the homeless community with bus tickets, hotel vouchers, or rehab facilities<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/lbrm.org\/who-we-are\/\">Long Beach Rescue Mission i<\/a>ncludes two shelters, including one for men and another for women and their children<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/usvets.org\/locations\/long-beach\/\">U.S. VETS \u2014Long Beach<\/a> offers supportive services for military veterans and their families<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>Resources:<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.longbeach.gov\/globalassets\/health\/homeless-services-divsion\/homeless-count\/clb-homeless-count-infographic-06-16\">2020 Long Beach Point-In-Time Count<\/a> &#8211; Statistics for people experiencing homelessness<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/everyoneinla.org\/our-progress\/map\">Everyone In LA<\/a> &#8211; Learn more about the issue and participate in local roundtables<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.longbeach.gov\/globalassets\/health\/homeless-services-divsion\/msc\/pocket-guide-resource-directory-april-2018\">Pocket Guide<\/a> &#8211; resource directory from the city of Long Beach<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.longbeach.gov\/health\/services\/directory\/homeless-services\/need-assistance\/\">Homeless Services<\/a> &#8211; Multi-service center and more<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>What are some questions that you have about homelessness in your community?
