Now in its 43rd year, “The Long Beach Nutcracker” is one of only two productions in the country that uses two harps in the orchestra to ensure the performance sounds the way Tchaikovsky intended.

Anita W. Harris has reviewed theater in and around Long Beach for the past eight years. She believes theater is a creative space where words and stories become reality through being spoken, enacted, felt and lived. She is a member of the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle and won 3rd place for theater criticism in 2023 and 2024 in the Los Angeles Press Club's Journalism Awards.
