About us

The Long Beach Post and Long Beach Business Journal have always existed to serve the public. In late 2023, after decades of for-profit ownership, both publications formally reorganized to align with that mission — becoming charitable entities under the Long Beach Journalism Initiative, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN: 93-4121848).

Our purpose is educational. We provide residents with trustworthy, independent reporting that sparks debate, deepens understanding, and strengthens civic participation. Through our coverage and community initiatives, we aim to create an informed and connected Long Beach — one where people have the knowledge and confidence to shape the city’s future together.
