Road Dogs TV Legacy Awards (Thursday, Aug. 13)
If you’re a fan of live music, look no further. Road Dogs TV will be hosting its Legacy Awards Gala at the Art Theatre with a performance from Heavenly Trip to Hell, a local metal band “celebrating 30 years of mayhem.”
Hustle Holix Hip Hop Corner, a rap group collective with local artists, will also perform to mark 20 years.
Artists spanning alternative, garage, post-punk, heavy metal and hard rock are also set to take the stage.
Tickets start at $20 and are available for purchase here. The show will start promptly at 7:30 p.m. Formal attire is required.
Movies in the Park: ‘Wicked for Good’ (Friday, Aug. 14)
Houghton Park will host a free movie night to show “Wicked for Good,” the 2025 musical starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo.
Activities will begin at 6:30 p.m., including a bounce house, nightly raffle giveaway and free popcorn.
It’s part of a months-long free movie series sponsored by Signal Hill Petroleum.

The Vulva Gala (Saturday, Aug. 15)
This one-of-a-kind gala will feature art, a fashion show, live performances and panel discussions about bodies, healing and identity. About 30 local artists will display their work alongside local vendors and booths offering community resources.
It’s taking place starting at 11 a.m. at the First Congregational Church of Long Beach.
Admission is free, but tickets are required, and donations are welcome here.
Dia De Las Ranflas y Viclas Car & Bike Show (Saturday, Aug. 15)
This flashy daylong display of unique motorcycles and lowrider cars will take over Marina Green Park from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
It will also host performances by Mack 10, Los Cadetes de Linares, Negros de La Raza, Micayla Rivera and The Delfonics.
General admission tickets start at $30, with family packs available for $100 to get four visitors in.

Long Beach Kite Festival (Sunday, Aug. 16)
Kites will fill the sky at the 13th annual Long Beach Kite Festival this Sunday at Granada Beach. From 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., there will be a free kite giveaway and flying lessons, live entertainment, food and free backpacks for kids.
