Coven of the Full Moon Aboard the Queen Mary (Thursday, Aug. 27)
Join Stormie Gayle beneath this month’s full moon for an immersive tour through the Queen Mary’s supernatural history from 8 to 9:45 p.m. Guests will prepare to cross the veil and contact the ship’s well-known spirits using specialized equipment, including spirit rods, EMF meters and pendulums.

Fourth Fridays on Retro Row (Friday, Aug. 28)
Long Beach’s monthly pop-up on Retro Row returns this Friday, featuring local artists, live music, food, drinks and late-night shopping. The event stretches along Fourth St. from Cherry Ave. to Temple Ave. from 6 to 9 p.m. Free shuttle service will be available through DRIVER, and Pedal Movement will provide free bike valet. The event is free to attend.

A Great Night in Hip-Hop at the Long Beach Amphitheater (Friday, Aug. 28)
Musical legends Nas and The Roots headline the Amphitheater for a legendary night of rap and hip-hop culture, supported by De La Soul. Parking is not available at the venue, and attendees are encouraged to park downtown and take a water shuttle to access the event. Shuttles begin at 5:30 p.m., doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the show begins at 8 p.m.

Scavenger Hunt at Los Altos Library (Saturday, Aug. 29)
Kids aged 12 and under are invited to the Los Altos Neighborhood Library (5614 E. Britton Dr.) to search for hidden graphics throughout the building while discovering new favorite books in the process. The event is free and part of the Long Beach Public Library’s ongoing scavenger hunt series. Additional information is available here.
Mindful Beach Cleanup (Saturday, Aug. 29)
Join Pacific Mind Health at the Belmont Pier for a free beach cleanup. Teams will scour the shore for trash from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., and gloves, eco-friendly supplies and snacks will be provided. All ages are welcome, and attendees are invited to drop in for part or all of the cleanup session.

Ambitious Record Fair (Saturday, Aug. 29)
Find your new favorite record while sipping a craft beer at Long Beach’s monthly record swap, hosted at Ambitious Ales (4019 Atlantic Ave) in Bixby Knolls from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Ten local vendors will offer an abundance of vinyl, collectibles, vintage home goods, and more.

Long Beach Film Festival (Saturday, Aug. 29 – Sunday, Aug. 30)
Long Beach’s beloved Art Theater will host the city’s inaugural film festival featuring four films, multiple shorts and industry panel discussions. The feature films will range from psychological horror to romantic science fiction. Tickets for screenings start at $10 and rise to $150 for a VIP experience, including an opening-night party at the Queen Mary, filmmaker mixers, exclusive panels and access to the festival lounge.
