Test your movie knowledge at the Art Theatre (Thursday, Sept. 24)
Movie trivia returns to the Art Theatre tonight at 7 p.m. The theater’s own film programmer, Kenna Wong Ghaill, will host five rounds of trivia — including a bonus round on Hong Kong film director Wong Kar-wai. Other categories include 1980s animation and Y2K girls’ night chick flicks. (Study up!) The event is free, but there’s a suggested donation when you RSVP.

Comedian Desi Banks‘ tour “Your Favorite Cousin” is stopping in Long Beach at The Laugh Factory. You’ve seen him in movies like “Little” with Issa Rae, but Banks has performed alongside comedy legends like Mike Epps and Lavell Crawford. Banks will have two shows on Friday night — one at 7 p.m. and one at 10 p.m. Tickets are $38.97 and are available here.

A concert with local bands paw-forming for animal rescue (Saturday, Sept. 26)
The Good Pawject, a nonprofit organization supporting animal rescues in Southern California, is hosting a “Concert for a Cause” on Saturday at 3 p.m. Five local bands will rock the stage at At The Top, and all proceeds will support The Good Pawject’s work through The Little Lion Foundation and Hollywood Huskies to help homeless dogs and cats.
