I’m not sure why, but I can’t stop watching videos of the two Queen Marys reuniting.

I know ships don’t have feelings. How could they? They’re just heavy hunks of steel.

But your heart must be made of steel if you don’t have a reaction to The Queen Mary seeing The Queen Mary 2 for the first time in 20 years.

Early Monday morning, the two ships reunited in Queensway Bay. Queen Mary 2, owned by Cunard, launched in 2004 and contains one of the Queen Mary’s original whistles.

Each ship blew its whistle on Monday during their “royal rendezvous,” like two metallic whales calling to each other from across the bay.

In other news, in case you were wondering what happened to the longtime staple in downtown, the East Village Cafe, we dug through the court records to see why it closed.

The two Queen Marys reunited this week for the first time in 20 years. Queen Mary 2 rarely makes trips to the West Coast, but is currently on a world voyage that took it to Los Angeles. Check out more from its local visit here.
