Allow me to introduce you to a turtle named Meatloaf.

This majestic shelled swimmer was rescued in January by Aquarium of the Pacific after being found entangled in fishing line and rope in the San Gabriel River.

Meatloaf, weighing in at 240 pounds, has undergone rehab and several surgeries on her front-right flipper over the past few months. But the Aquarium says $50,000 is still needed for surgery to save her front flipper.

We have more info here.

Also, our colleagues at LAist wrote an enlightening profile on Jakob Nowell and a new Sublime exhibit now open at the Grammy Museum.
