If you’ve been downtown lately (like our office is), World Cup fever has been unavoidable.

The city held a two-week watch party on Pine Avenue that wrapped up last week, and the Spain team was even spotted recently pulling up to a hotel on Ocean Boulevard.

In honor of the World Cup, our friends at The L.A. Local organized their own mini food tournament that’s still underway. An online vote will crown L.A. County’s best Latin or Caribbean dish.

There’s already been some upsets.

Pozole beat out Mole. Tostones over oxtail. And empanadas over lomo Saltado.

You can vote on your favorite of the eight remaining dishes here.

Here’s the route for this year’s Beach Streets open streets event in a few weeks. This time it’s also a combo watch party for the World Cup’s final match. For more info, head here.
