BANDS ON THE BAY—SAN PEDRO FISH MARKET LONG BEACH (Thursday)
The San Pedro Fish Market Long Beach, the one not located in Ports O’ Call San Pedro, but at Alamitos Bay, kicked off its new spring series Bands on the Bay in April where guests can enjoy live music while they dine.
This week’s featured act is artist Chelsey Sanchez, a Berklee College of Music alumna whose sound fuses jazz, folk and indie-pop. Catch her acoustic set from 4 to 7 p.m.
Show up between 3 and 6 p.m. to catch Happy Hour at the restaurant which features $5 draft beer, $6 wines by the glass and a selection of $7 specialty cocktails.
Enjoy a wide selection of family-style seafood trays, fresh fish entrees and more while you listen to some relaxing tunes and catch those sweet waterfront views on their very spacious outdoor patio (or dining room, that’s open, too).

THE ART SOIREE, ROARING 20S THEMED ART EXHIBITION (Friday-Saturday)

This art exhibition at the Icehouse Arts Complex on Friday, June 11 and Saturday, June 12 invites guests to dress up in their finest “Prohibition style” costumes and peruse their selection of paintings, sculptures, ceramics and other art from 12 local artists.
The event will also feature a raffle, live pianist and musical performance.
In line with COVID-19 health precautions, capacity is limited and requires RSVP. Guests are required to wear masks while in the venue and encouraged to adhere to social distancing.

MOVIES & MOONLIGHT: THE SANDLOT – 2ND & PCH (Friday)
Catch a free outdoor movie screening of “The Sandlot” at 2nd & PCH Friday, June 11 as part of the Movies & Moonlight series at the dining and shopping center.
The movie begins at sunset (roughly 7:30 p.m.), but it’s best to arrive early to stake your spot along the main street, which is blocked off to traffic. Guests are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets as complimentary seating is limited. The center requests that all attendees adhere to social distancing.
2nd & PCH is at 6400 Pacific Coast Highway.
SCHOOL SUPPLY YARD SALE (Saturday)
A former teacher is cleaning house, selling school supplies for students and teachers beginning at 7 a.m. until everything is gone Saturday, June 12 at 3020 E. Third St.
Attendees can also purchase clothing, accessories, furniture, kitchenware and more.
BEATLES TRIBUTE BAND ABBEY ROAD—THE GASLAMP (Saturday)
Wine and dine outdoors at The Gaslamp Saturday, June 12 while the nationally touring Beatles tribute band, Abbey Road, performs live all the iconic songs from the English ’60’s rock outfit.
The band isn’t your typical look-alike tribute band but focus on bringing to life some of the more mature and complex Beatles material in a raw and spirited fashion, while remaining true to the original recordings, according to the band’s bio.
Tickets cost $20, which will buy you a table to enjoy the show, but do not include dinner or drinks.

BEACH CLEAN UP WITH CLEAN LB (Saturday)
Spruce up Long Beach’s shoreline with Clean LB from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 12. Clean LB will provide participants with gloves and bags, all you need do is bring your helpful, masked-up self.
Attendees are also required to adhere to social distancing. Meet-up is at the lifeguard headquarters on the west side of the parking lot below Bluff Park at 2100 E. Ocean Blvd.

LONG BEACH YOUTH CHORUS PERFORMANCE (Sunday)
The Long Beach Youth Chorus is back for its first in-person musical performance since the pandemic, with a season finale show at Grace First Presbyterian Church Sunday, June 13 at 5 p.m.
The concert is a hybrid of sorts that will feature several live vocal performances from chorus members and three videos the singers have been preparing since spring under the direction of their new artistic director, Stevie Hirner.
The concert is free to attend, but donations are encouraged. There will also be a silent auction happening during the show online.
Guests are encouraged to wear masks if unvaccinated, and adhere to social distancing.
