Popular fast-casual Mediterranean chain, CAVA, will continue a massive national expansion with its first Long Beach location set to open in 2024 at the former Polly’s Pies spot near the Traffic Circle.

The Washington D.C.-based brand was started in 2010 and, in recent years, has become popular for its quick, healthy and customizable bowls and wraps.

The menu has pre-set bowls like the Market Spice with spicy falafel, broccoli, hummus, tzatziki, greens, rice, skhug (hot sauce), and garlic dressing; or the Harissa Avocado with Harissa honey chicken and a hot harissa vinaigrette, feta hummus, corn, avocado, rice, greens and more.

But one of the most popular options is a build-your-own bowl where customers can choose their base of greens, like spinach and arugula; grains, like rice or lentils; or a mix of the two. Protein options include chicken, lamb or falafel, and for vegetarians, roasted vegetables. The bowl comes with multiple topping, dip and dressing choices.

CAVA dips have become so popular over the years that Whole Foods now sells their Crazy Spicy Feta Dip and their Roasted Red Pepper Hummus, as well as a few CAVA dressings.

If a customer wants something a little more handheld, there are pita wraps available as well as a build-your-own pita wrap option. CAVA’s full menu can be found here.

No exact date was given for the opening, only that it is expected in early 2024.

CAVA will be located at 4680 East Los Coyotes Diagonal.
