It’s well-documented by this point that we here at the Post are big fans of pie.

So imagine our glee that the annual celebration of the mathematical constant, which happens to (almost) share its name with our favorite confection, has once again arrived.

That’s right—Pi Day, celebrated March 14 to honor the number that rounds to 3.14 (and just so happens to be useful in calculating the size of a pie), is finally here.

Thankfully, there are plenty of ways to mark the occasion in Long Beach. Here are a few:

  • Hof’s Hut has a one-day offer for $3.14 off a freshly baked large pie. Customers can enjoy the discount by dining in at 2147 N. Bellflower Blvd. or with an online takeout order using code 897-200-458. Hof’s Hut is open today from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • The Pie Bar in Downtown, 450 Pine Ave., is also getting in on the action by offering $3.14 key lime pie shots for the first 200 guests. Anyone who is lucky enough to have a Pi Day birthday will also get a free slice, as long as you have your ID handy. The Pie Bar is open today from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., but folks are encouraged to get there early to snag a pie shot.
  • Polly’s Pies Restaurant & Bakery, 3490 Atlantic Ave., will offer apple pies featuring the pi symbol for those who want to take the day a little more literally. Polly’s Pies is open today from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

And, for those of you who prefer to celebrate the day in a more savory fashion, Blaze Pizza is offering any one 11-inch pizza (excluding crust upgrades) for $3.14 to its Blaze Rewards members. Sign up online or by downloading the app. The closest participating locations are 11263 183rd St., Cerritos, and 12430 Seal Beach Blvd., Seal Beach. Both are open today from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
